Head-on crash near Florence leaves one dead, five hospitalized, Oregon State Police say
A fatal head-on crash near Florence left one person dead and five injured on Tuesday. A preliminary investigation indicated that a westbound Toyota Rav4 crossed into the eastbound lane on Highway 126 "for unknown reasons" and struck a Chevrolet Equinox coming from the opposite direction, according to a release from the Oregon State Police.
Crash on McCullough Bridge in Coos Bay affects all lanes, delays expected
The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) is reporting a crash has occurred on U.S. Highway 101, at milepost 234, on the McCullough Bridge in Coos Bay. All lanes are affected, ODOT is asking drivers to prepare to slow or move over for worker safety. There is an estimated delay of 20 minutes or less.

I want to thank the entire staff of Spruce Point Assisted Living and Memory Care Center for the compassionate and competent care they recently provided for my father-in-law. We had to move him here from Florida at the age of 97 after the death of his wife of 65 years. Within days of moving him to Spruce Point he entered hospice care due to a multitude of medical conditions and dementia. The staff at Spruce Point were consistently caring and kind, adapting their care methods to meet the specific needs of my father-in-law. They always treated him with respect and never-ending patience. We are so grateful to have such a quality care facility in our small town.
