WICHITA, Kan. — Tulane scored four runs in the top of the first and never looked back, downing Wichita State 13-8 on Friday night at Eck Stadium. The Green Wave (23-19, 8-8) used a leadoff walk and four singles to do their damage in the first against WSU starter Tyler Dobbs (5-4), putting the Shockers in an early 4-0 hole. An RBI ground out from Jaden Gustafson and an RBI single from Mauricio Millan in the bottom of the inning made it 4-2, but the Shockers (21-22, 7-9) would get no closer the rest of the way.

North Texas (30-20, 17-7 AAC) swept a doubleheader on Friday and lost the series closer 6-0 Saturday morning. A quick turnaround from Friday night's games and postgame senior ceremonies to Saturday morning's 10:30 a.m. start meant the Mean Green were emotionally and physically exhausted.
