Santee Cooper rates may change in 2025. What to know about the proposal
Santee Cooper, the state-owned utility company whose coverage area includes most of the Myrtle Beach area and inland, looks poised to change its rates in 2025. The proposed rate adjustment would result in an average increase of 8.7% for retail customers, the utility said. The increase is needed due to the utility’s need to invest in its electric system and make “significant system updates required by new regulations.”
