Military Scraps Flight Plan Over Pennsylvania Wilds
A proposal to have military aircraft fly low over the Pennsylvania Wilds has been canceled after significant pushback from residents and environmentalists. The proposed Duke Low Military Operations Area would have been in the vicinity of 10 state parks and 395,647 acres of state forests in Cameron, Clinton, McKean, Potter, and Tioga counties, including the dark sky preserve of the Pennsylvania Wilds.
Police seeking information on hit and run crash
Renovo, Pa. — Renovo Police are investigating a hit and run crash in the area of Red Row Road and Main Street in the village of North Bend, Chapman Twp. According to authorities, a vehicle struck a sign, which then damaged a fence. Police believe the crash occurred on May 7 between 2 and 10:30 p.m. Anyone with information on the person or vehicle responsible is being asked to contact the Renovo Police Department at 570-923-2102, the dispatch center at 570-923-2268, or submit a tip here.
