Humane Society set to receive grant from "Petco Love" nonprofit

GALAX– The Twin County Humane Society announced on April 9 it is set to receive a $2,500 grant investment from national nonprofit Petco Love in support of their lifesaving work for animals in the Twin Counties.

Petco Love is a national nonprofit leading change for pets by harnessing the power of love to make communities and pet families closer, stronger, and healthier. Since its founding in 1999, Petco Love has invested $375 million in adoption and other lifesaving efforts. And Petco Love helps find loving homes for pets in partnership with Petco and more than 4,000 organizations — like ours — across North America, with 6.75 million pets adopted and counting.

“Our investment in the Twin County Humane Society is part of more than $15 million in investments recently announced by Petco Love to power local organizations across the country as part of our commitment to create a future in which no pet is unnecessarily euthanized,” said Susanne Kogut, president of Petco Love. “Our local investments are only part of our strategy to empower animal lovers to drive lifesaving change right alongside us. We launched Petco Love Lost, a national lost and found database that uses patented image-recognition technology to simplify the search for lost pets.”

“This lifesaving investment from Petco Love will help so many pets. Because the Twin County Humane Society is staffed entirely by volunteers, 100% of this investment will go directly to the pets of the Twin Counties, including spay and neuter, owner support services, foster, and rescue. We are so thankful to Petco Love for caring so much about the pets of the Twin Counties,” said Stephanie Kordick, TCHS Vice President.

The Twin County Humane Society is a nonprofit organization that helps pets in the Twin Counties. In the past year alone, TCHS has provided spay or neuter, vaccination, and other support to over 800 community cats, provided spay/neuter assistance to almost 600 owned dogs and cats, and provided foster and rescue to over 600 dogs and cats, and so much more!
