It's spring football time for Gadsden area high school football teams.

Only a few teams chose to participate in a formal spring game while one (Ashville) is going through spring practice but will not have a formal spring game. Teams are given the choice of a spring practice period and spring game or an extra week in the fall and the ability to do a jamboree ahead of the season. Teams that do a spring practice must start fall practice a week later than those who don't.

All teams are allowed to do two hours a week of practice, no pads, during the spring without it counting as official practice. Many Gadsden area teams have already started or gearing up to start that period.
