Dunkin donuts surprise Boys & Girls Club in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Children at the Boys & Girls Club of Zimmerman were given surprise tickets to the Savannah Banana game at Chukchansi Park on Friday.

The surprise came on behalf of Dunkin, who provided donuts and beverages for kids to enjoy.

A short ceremony was held at 3 p.m. to announce the surprise and formally hand over the tickets as well as Dunkin drawstring bags.

Marketing and Communications Coordinator Jessica Maxey says staff were surprised just as much as the kids when Dunkin came with the offer.

“When Dunkin called us and said we were chosen to receive this surprise, I was thrilled,” Maxey said. “We are so grateful to them.”

Zimmerman Unit Director Alicia Audelo says the surprise element was an effort to create a feeling of wonder for the kids, a feeling Audelo says they are so worthy of.

“Our kids deserve surprises like this because it’s a chance for them to just be kids and have fun,” Audelo said. “for one night, they don’t have to worry about anything else – I am so excited to spend time with them at the game.”
