FREMONT ― Rachel McCoy, vice president of the Fremont Kiwanis and chairperson of this year’s Kiwanis Pancake Festival, said the event Wednesday was pretty busy. The big push also came in the afternoon in time for dinner.

Kiwanis members served nearly 2,500 people at the Victors Event Center during the 64th annual all-day breakfast. It was the second year back to in-person dining, along with carry-out, after the COVID-19 epidemic.

The 65 volunteers included teenagers from Key Clubs.

All proceeds from the event go to fund several community service projects. Proceeds from this week's event were still being tabulated Thursday.

This is the largest fundraiser of the year for the Fremont Kiwanis, with more than $13,000 raised in 2023.
