    Fowler Police warn about the ‘Fresno Kia Boys’

    FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A warning about the “Fresno Kia Boys” has been issued by the Fowler Police Department after officers say the group of juveniles has been stealing Kia and Hyundai vehicles in the city to post videos about it on social media.

    Officers say the group has been traveling through the Central Valley stealing Kia and Hyundai vehicles. According to police, it takes less than a minute and police say they are stolen to post videos on social media and draw attention to the “Fresno Kia Boys”.

    Police say three vehicles were targeted in the city of Fowler.

    Investigators say the thieves start by breaking a window and then punch open the plastic housing around the ignition switch with a screwdriver. The thieves then use a USB accessory to start the vehicle.

    Police say owners can take simple steps to protect their property by storing their vehicles in a locked garage and using a steering wheel lock.
