Officials in Tuscaloosa react to recent crimes in west Alabama
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC) - Authorities in Tuscaloosa held a news conference Thursday regarding the violence that west Alabama has seen in recent weeks. According to the Violent Crimes Unit, on April 25, authorities responded to the 800 block of Garden Parkway (Hallmark Apartments) on reports of an unresponsive 4-month-old. Officials say the child, who suffered injuries consistent with abuse, was taken to the hospital where they were placed on life support. The victim in the case, 27-year-old Jaquon Ladarrion Stewart, was charged with aggravated child abuse April 26. Unfortunately, officials say the child passed away from their injuries Wednesday, May 15. Stewart’s charges have been upgraded to felony murder.
Police searching for person of interest after man found dead in Tuscaloosa
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) — Tuscaloosa Police Department is investigating a possible homicide that happened outside of a local Alcoholics Anonymous building. Tuscaloosa city school buses burglarized
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) Tuscaloosa police are looking for the people who broke into three Tuscaloosa city school buses and stole several fire extinguishers. The break-ins come as city schools are close to wrapping up for the year. Tuscaloosa police say it happened Friday night around 10:47. The time is sourced to several alarms going off at the Tuscaloosa city school bus transportation compound.
