FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Fort Wayne rolled out the red carpet for Notre Dame head football coach Marcus Freeman on Thursday.

Freeman was the keynote speaker at Thursday’s “Common Bond” fundraiser for Erin’s House for Grieving Children. The local nonprofit supports children, teens and families of those who have experienced a death.

Entering his third season at Notre Dame, Freeman is 19-8 since taking over as the Fighting Irish’s head football coach.

Following Thursday’s fundraiser, WANE 15 caught up with Freeman to discuss his coaching career, his thoughts on incoming freshman and Fort Wayne native Tae Tae Johnson and the strong pipeline of northeast Indiana natives to suit up for the Fighting Irish.
