    Track and field: Riley, Worden win races as Fort girls finish 6th at Stoughton; Heagney victorious for boys who take 12th

    STOUGHTON — Ashlie Riley, Mary Worden and Grant Heagney all won races for Fort Atkinson’s track and field team at Friday’s Stoughton Invitational.

    Riley, a junior, won the 300-meter hurdles by 38 one-hundredths of a second in 47.37. She was also fifth in the 100 hurdles in 17.12.

    Worden, a junior, won the 800-meter run by five seconds in 2:24.14.

    Heagney, a sophomore, won the 400 by 42 one-hundredths of a second in 50.95.

    Senior Ben Stricker added a second-place finish for the Blackhawks in the 3,200 with a time of 9:30.06.

    Fort’s boys scored 26 points and took 12th while the girls team finished sixth with 49 points.

    Sophomore Ava Leurquin took sixth in the 1,600 in 6:01.06 and sophomore Hannah Baldry was sixth in the 300 hurdles in 51.71.

    The 1,600 relay team of Riley, Baldry, junior Claire Kucken and Worden took fourth in 4:19.17.

    In the field, senior Rebecca Christ was third in the discus with a throw of 104 feet, 11 inches and junior Geneva Fisher took fifth (96-2). In the shot put, Fisher was sixth with a mark of 32-5 1/2 while junior Mykenna Gray took eighth (30-11).

    On the boys side, senior Evan Zachgo was fifth in the 300 hurdles in 43.81 and senior Owen Geiger was eighth in the 800 in 2:03.83.

    SATURDAY’S RESULTSTOWN OF MERTON — Stricker and Heagney competed in Saturday’s Myrhum Invitational hosted by Arrowhead High School.

    Stricker took sixth in the 1,600 with a time of 4:24.35.

    Heagney finished 10th in the 800 in 2:00.35.

    Fort competes at the Tom Mueller Invitational hosted by Oregon High School next Friday.
