Fort golfers shoot 328, place 4th at The Oaks

COTTAGE GROVE — Fort Atkinson’s boys golf team shot 328 and placed fourth at Tuesday’s Badger Large meet held at The Oaks Golf Course in blustery conditions.

Fort junior Mason Burke shot 6-over 77 and tied for sixth in the 40-player field.

The Blackhawks also counted the 81 shot by junior Caleb Enger plus the 85s carded by juniors Kellan Jacobson and Jack Kammer. Senior Ethan Brown’s 91 was not counted.

Waunakee had the low two individual rounds — a 72 by senior KC Nickel and 73 by sophomore Peyton Albers — to shoot 304 and hold off DeForest by one stroke in the team competition.

Fort competes in the two-day four-team Tri-City Invite starting Thursday and finishing on Friday at Glen Erin Golf Club.

Team scores: Waunakee 304, DeForest 305, Milton 324, Fort Atkinson 328, Monona Grove 332, Oregon 351, Beaver Dam 365, Watertown 392.
