Watch: Controlled Demolition of Key Bridge Remains
BALTIMORE, MD - A controlled demolition took place Monday evening in an effort to remove a piece of the collapsed Francis Scott Key Bridge from the cargo ship Dali. The largest remaining steel piece had been resting on the Dali for nearly two months. Now that the piece has been removed, work is expected to take place to refloat the vessel and remove it from the federal channel, according to Key Bridge Unified Command. The collapse of the Key Bridge in late March claimed the lives of six workers and has had major impacts on Maryland’s economy. The FBI has launched a criminal investigation into the vessel strike that brought the bridge down.
Police investigating deadly hit-and-run crash in Prince George's County
GREATER LANDOVER, Md. — Police are searching for the driver involved in a hit-and-run crash that left a woman dead late Tuesday night in Greater Landover. Officers with the Prince George's County Police Department responded to Martin Luther King Jr. Highway and Columbia Park Drive around 10:30 p.m. after a report of a crash involving a pedestrian. Upon arrival, they found a woman injured in the roadway.
