MONTVERDE, Fla. – If you walk into the Nest at Montverde Academy, you will see a wall full of former students who have gone pro and multiple national championship banners. If you are lucky enough to be on campus when one of the basketball teams is competing in a championship game, you will see teachers and students glued to the game, following every score.

Four West Orange and Southwest Orange County teams remain in the FHSAA state softball playoffs. In Class 2A, Foundation Academy and The First Academy will play in the regional semifinals Tuesday, May 14. Foundation, the No. 1 seed in Region 2, beat Orangewood Christian, 11-9, in the regional quarterfinals, while TFA, the No. 4 seed topped Mount Dora Christian, 9-4. Foundation will host Academy at the Lakes in the region semifinals and the Royals will travel to Cornerstone Charter Academy.
