Airplane missed landing strip, stops in front yard of Kansas home. FORD COUNTY—A Kansas pilot avoided injury after a mishap just after 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1st, in Ford County. The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2009 Turbo-prop S2R-T34 fixed-wing, single-engine aircraft piloted by Dawson Lance Dreyer, 23, of Spring Hill, had landing gear issues. The airplane missed the grass landing strip south of Center Street and west of South Washington Street in Bucklin. The aircraft came to a spot in a residential yard at 710 West Center Street in Bucklin. There were no injuries, just minor damages to the aircraft from the landing that were repaired on the scene.
