Man charged in fatal shooting of woman in St. Charles County, police say
FORISTELL, Mo. — A man is facing charges in the fatal shooting of a woman in Foristell early Thursday morning, according to recently released court records. The man, identified as Clyde Young of Godfrey, Illinois, was charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action, the records said. Young was later killed during a standoff with police near the Lewis and Clark bridges.

Vandalia Boys Track Gets Season Underway at Knights Indoor Invitational; Bowers Lone Medalist for Vandals
Twelve members of the Vandalia Boys track team got their season underway on Friday at the Triad Knights Indoor Invitational at Principia College. The meet featured 34 teams from all three IHSA classes (1A, 2A and 3A) competing together. The Vandals had one medalist for the meet as freshman Sam Bowers finished 4th in the Fresh/Soph Division of the 60m High Hurdles with a Finals time of 9.20 seconds after qualifying with a 4th place finish (9.42 seconds) in the Prelims. Next up for the Vandals will be the girls getting their season underway at the EIU-Charleston Girls Indoor Invitational this Friday after their first meet was canceled due to winter weather and the boys will have their second indoor meet on Saturday for the boys side of the EIU-Charleston Indoor Invitational.
