FLORENCE, Ala. (WHNT) — The Florence Department arrested two people Wednesday after a grand jury indicted them for the abuse of a 10-month-old baby.

The Florence Police Department said Kaliyah B Vaughn and Bryant J. Taylor are charged with Assault Torture/Willful Abuse of a Child stemming from a May 2023 incident.

According to FPD, the baby had second-degree burns on both of its feet and third-degree burns on the back. At this time, doctors at the North Alabama Medical Center felt there could be abuse and contacted the police.

FPD said the case was investigated and presented to a grand jury which indicted the man and woman.
