FINDLAY — Nationally coveted four-star quarterback recruit Ryan Montgomery of Findlay High School will announce his commitment to a college program on Wednesday afternoon at the school.

The Trojans' 6-foot-3, 215-pound junior, who earned first team Division I All-Ohio honors this past season, will gather with his family, the student body, and Findlay teachers and administrators to reveal his decision in a 3 p.m. gathering at the school's gymnasium.

Montgomery, whose older brother Luke was a freshman offensive lineman at Ohio State University this past season, currently has offers from 27 Division I universities.

Last August, he had revealed his top five options to include eventual 2023 national champion Michigan, 2021 and 2022 national champion Georgia, plus Florida, Penn State, and South Carolina. He has since dropped Michigan and Penn State.

Also included among his offers are those from Big Ten schools Ohio State, Michigan State, Purdue, and Wisconsin, other notable top national programs Notre Dame, Tennessee, Auburn, and North Carolina, and the University of Toledo and Miami (Ohio) from the Mid-American Conference.

Last season, Montgomery completed 258 of his 376 passes (69 percent) for 3,377 yards and 38 touchdowns in 11 games for the 8-3 Trojans, who shared the Northern Lakes League's Buckeye Division championship with Anthony Wayne and Whitmer. He also rushed 46 times for 257 yards and 10 touchdowns.

In his three-year career as Findlay's starting QB, Montgomery is 603 of 960 (63 percent) passing for 7,584 yards and 89 touchdowns, and has rushed for 740 yards and 15 scores.

According to 247sports, which evaluates and rates high school recruits, Montgomery has a composite ranking as the No. 184 prep recruit overall nationally from the Class of 2025, the No. 15 quarterback in his class nationally, and Ohio's No. 8 overall player.
