Fayetteville's Countryside Boys Gymnastics has two gymnasts who will participate in this weekend's Eastern National Championship in Cleveland, Ohio.

The Eastern National Gymnastics Championships will be held on April 26-28 at Cleveland Public Auditorium, and Pine Forest Middle School's Michael Adame and The O'Neal School's Nicholas Caldwell are set to compete in the championship.

"They've been competing for a while, and now they're starting to see the fruits of their labor," Countryside Gymnastics coach Antone Wright said about the two.

The championships were created to give an opportunity to junior gymnasts, allowing them to put their talent on display on a national stage.

Just a week ago, Caldwell, a level 9 gymnast, and Adame, a level 7, qualified for the national stage at the Regional championships.

"I was actually surprised," Wright when asked about his reaction. "But it wasn't that I was surprised that they did it, it was that they had done it so early. And that's what makes these two so special," he finished.

Caldwell and Adame said they were both speechless when they found out they qualified. "I just didn't know what to say. It was the best feeling ever for me and my family. I've worked so hard," Caldwell said.

Though they were all surprised, Wright, Caldwell, and Adame all knew that this moment would come. "I've seen them since they were young kids falling off of the beams; now they're here," Wright said.

While Adame just wants to see where gymnastics takes him after the national championship, Nicholas is all in on gaining a scholarship in the sport and competing at high level in hopes of getting to the Olympics.
