Your Guide to the Nov. 3 Election in Excelsior Springs, Clay County and Ray County

As of midday Tuesday, Oct. 27, more than 15,000 Clay County voters had participated in early voting, according to figures released by the Clay County Election Board. That's more than double the number who had voted early at the same point in the 2022 midterm election. Nationally, more than 39 million Americans had already cast ballots by Wednesday afternoon, according to the University of Florida's Election Lab and Associated Press data reported by The Washington Post.

Kansas Turnpike Authority plans expansion of I-70 north and east of Lawrence

An upcoming project will expand Interstate 70 to six lanes in parts of Douglas and Leavenworth counties and replace two overhead bridges as part of a $136.6 million contract. A 9-mile stretch of the highway will be widened from four lanes. That stretch is between mile markers 204.5, which is near I-70’s North Lawrence interchange, and 213.5, which is east of town between Linwood to the south and Tonganoxie to the north.
