The Kansas City Chiefs are adding new holiday cheers to their annual pop-up bar inside Arrowhead Stadium. Kingdom’s Greetings is back for 2026 , turning the club level inside the loudest stadium in the world into a winter wonderland. Starting Friday, Nov 27, Visitors can enjoy holiday-themed cocktails served in collectible cups, food, photo opportunities and unrestricted views of the Arrowhead Stadium playing field. It’s open from 5-11 p.m. on Thursday to Sunday weekly from Nov. 27 to Tuesday, Dec. 29 . It’s also open on Wednesday, Dec. 23, Monday, Dec 28, and Tuesday, Dec. 29, but closed Friday, Dec. 18. Johnson County Mexican restaurant closes last location after 13 years

After serving the Kansas City area for 13 years, a Mexican-style taco concept has closed its second and last location. Taco Republic closed its Prairie Village location Wednesday at 4100 W. 83rd St., marking the end of its brick-and-mortar era. “From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making Taco Republic so special. We hope to see you before we say goodbye to our Prairie Village location,” the restaurant announced Thursday. It promised to continue catering, so its taco truck will still pop up around the metro. The “not-your-standard Mexican restaurant,” its website calls itself, started in 2013 at Mission and County Line Roads in Kansas City, Kansas, where Joe’s Next Door now lives. In 2019, restaurateur Whitney VinZant took over Taco Republic and added it to his growing portfolio of concepts in the metro, which now includes Louie’s Wine Dive, Gram & Dun, Louie’s Reserve (formerly Cafe Trio) and BrewTop. Taco Republic opened a second location in 2021 in Prairie Village’s Corinth Square. It neighbored Johnny’s Tavern, Modern Market Eatery and BRGR (also a VinZant concept). This matcha pop-up stand is creating distinct flavors and long lines across KC

The green and leafy beverage known as matcha has had Gen Z in a serious chokehold this decade. Some may drink it for the health benefits, while others drink it for the “performative” aesthetic. In a coffee shop hub like Kansas City, there’s no limit on matcha options. But a place that strictly sells the green tea concoction? There’s just one place for that, and they don’t even have a storefront. If you’ve been at the Overland Park Farmers Market this season, you’ve probably noticed that long line of patient folks waiting on the east side of the market. That’s the line for HerCafe , a matcha-only stand that has proven to be one of Kansas City’s most beloved pop-up stands. Their best days saw sales of 500–600 cups of matcha. Their drinks typically runs you about $8. You can do the math — the business is booming. “People are there like when we’re setting up. They’re ready to go,” said Yasmen Hassen, co-founder of the stand that can open as early as 7:30 a.m. during the farmers market season. The idea of the matcha station came from when Hassen and co-founder Lujyn Elsayed met at a 2023 women’s retreat.
