Fall River’s Leisemann NACC Player Of The Year
Fall River High School grad Sam Leisemann of Wisconsin Lutheran has been named the Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Year. Leisemann led the Warriors to the NACC to the regular season and playoff conference championship during the 2023-24 season. WLC will travel to Wartburg (IA) for a first round NCAA Tournament game on March 1st.

(Trenton) Felony charges of Hiding a Corpse have been filed against two people in Dodge County Court. Shawn Wheeler and Christine Steffen were reportedly with the victim when he swallowed a bag full of drugs nearly two years ago. They allegedly drove the man to a hospital, but according to the complaint, he did not want to go inside. Investigators say Wheeler and Steffen did not call 911, check the victim’s pulse, or attempt CPR. They left the man’s body in a parking lot in the town of Trenton. If convicted, the 45-year-old Wheeler and the 39-year-old Steffen both face up to 12-and-a-half-years in prison. Steffen has an initial appearance scheduled for March 11th while Wheeler will be in court on April 9th.

(Dodge County) A facility study for schools in the Beaver Dam School District has revealed important findings. With safety as a priority, renovation or even new construction is in consideration for Washington Elementary and the middle school. The district will be having community informational meetings and an open house to continue conversations about local school renovations in late February and early March. Boys basketball: Oregon topples Beaver Dam in regular season finale
Oregon sophomore Vaughn Karvala made sure the team’s three-game losing streak would be history before the WIAA Division 1 tournament begins.
