(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Fire Department responded to a chemical leak Friday afternoon. Crews were dispatched to the intersection of South Center Street and West Mill Street just after 3pm. Reports indicated that a delivery truck had a container that was leaking Nitric Acid. Appropriate safety measures were taken, and crews used hazardous material containment devices to limit the spread. An environmental contamination and clean up company arrived on scene to fully mitigate the hazards. Personnel were able to stop the leak from reaching a nearby storm sewer.

(WLUK) -- The Fox Valley Workforce Development Board says it's ready to assist the more than 400 workers who recently lost their jobs. The board will lead the Rapid Response efforts for the layoff of 90 workers from a Del Monte Foods plant in Markesan, and 339 workers Lakeside Book Company in Menasha.
