EAU CLAIRE — The treasurer of the Fall Creek school board has begun a 30-day jail sentence after being found guilty of operating a motor vehicle with a prohibited alcohol concentration causing injury.

Jill Geske, 57, was found guilty after a February trial. Jurors found her not guilty of an OWI in the case. She was also fined $1,492. The court gave her up to 60 days to report to begin serving the sentence and 20 days in which to appeal. Online records do not show an appeal.

According to the criminal complaint, authorities were called to Olson Drive and North 130th Avenue in Seymour shortly after 11 p.m. on June 27, 2020. The first officer to arrive saw one vehicle in the middle of the intersection with heavy front-end damage. Geske was standing by the vehicle.

The officer asked if Geske had been drinking, and she admitted to having had several drinks earlier in the day. She said she “was driving and believed she had fallen asleep” before the crash.

There were two people in the other vehicle. The male driver said he was in pain from whiplash injuries and a female passenger said she had cuts on her leg, apparently from broken glass. Their vehicle was stopped at the intersection and rear-ended by the one driven by Geske.

Geske had difficulty with the field sobriety tests at the site, and blew a .105 when she was asked to do a breath test. A blood draw returned a result of .092.
