Fall Creek hires Wahleithner as new head football coach

Fall Creek High School has hired its new football coach.

Marcus Wahleithner has been hired to be the next head football coach at Fall Creek High School, it was announced Tuesday morning in a press release issued by Fall Creek High School athletic director and principal Trevor Kohlhepp.

Wahleithner has been a teacher and coach in the Fall Creek School district for the past 19 years. Additionally, he has been an assistant in the football program for the past 17 years. In addition to coaching football, Wahleithner has been the head and currently assistant softball coach.

“Fall Creek is excited to take the next step in our football program’s success. Coach Wahleithner is looking forward to continuing the success of Fall Creek football, and building on his experience as an assistant coach, strong teaching experience, and long time commitment to our community,” Kohlhepp stated in the official press release.

Wahleithner is taking over from former Fall Creek head football coach Tyler Mickelson, who stepped down from the position in January. The Crickets went 5-6 during their 2023 gridiron campaign.
