Back like it never left: Fall Creek baseball thriving after two-year hiatus
For two years, Fall Creek baseball didn’t exist. Well, not as its own entity at least. Due to low numbers in the program, the Crickets entered a co-op with Black River Falls after their 2021 season. In 2022 and 2023, Fall Creek High School didn’t field its own team. There wasn’t a fear that the move would be permanent. The Crickets knew their current crop of freshman were coming and that it would allow Fall Creek to fly solo once again and that’s exactly what...

Schroeder scores 100th career goal as Regis/McDonell closes in on conference title
Regis/McDonell girls soccer crushed Assumption 7-0 Monday in a game between the top two teams in the Mid-Western Wisconsin Conference standings. Senior Annabelle Schroeder finished with four goals and reached the 100-goal milestone for her career with the Saints. Schroeder scored a pair of goals in the first half at the 25th and 26th minutes and also scored the first two goals of the second half in the 46th and 58th minutes. Colleen Callaghan assisted on three of Schroeder’s goals. The Saints now stand at 12-1-1 — the lone loss coming to Division 1 Eau Claire North — on the season and 9-0-0 in conference play. With three conference games remaining, Regis/McDonell now stands five points clear of Assumption, meaning the Saints need just one draw down the stretch to clinch at least a share of the conference title. Any combination of two points would give the Saints the outright title.
