    Man shot and killed by West Virginia State Police after he was allegedly ordered to to drop a deadly weapon and a taser didn’t work

    A man was shot and killed by West Virginia State Police after officials say he brandished a deadly weapon.

    West Virginia State Police say they to Fairlea, West Virginia for a suspicious male subject brandishing a deadly weapon.

    Officers say they located Justin Denver Grant and ordered Grant to drop the deadly weapon but allegedly Grant refused.

    According to officers, they issued a tased on Grant but was ineffective.

    The West Virginia State Police say Grant continued to refuse verbal orders to drop the deadly weapon as the situation escalated.

    Police say it was at this time that they discharged a pistol striking Grant.

    Grant was transported by EMS to Greenbrier Valley Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

    West Virginia officers were not injured during this incident.

    The incident is under investigation by the West Virginia State Police.
