    Fairfield Police Arrest Paterson Resident on Shoplifting Charges

    FAIRFIELD, NJ -- Fairfield police arrested a Paterson man on shoplifting charges on Monday.

    Police apprehended Gary Davis, 67. Officers were dispatched to the Target store at 2:31 p.m. Monday on a report of a shoplifter in custody. Officers Ryan Cleary and John Seragusa arrived at the store and located Davis being detained by security.

    Davis allegedly arrived at the store, placed miscellaneous items in a shopping cart, and attempted to exit the store without paying.  He was stopped prior to exiting by security and detained until police arrival.

    The total value shoplifted was $525.34.

    Davis was released pending a court appearance on June 25 at the Essex County Courthouse.
