NCPD: Three Arrested Following Reports of "Shot Spotter" Incident in Freeport
First Squad Detectives report the arrests of three (3) Freeport men for Criminal Possession of a Weapon that occurred on Sunday, May 12, 2024 at 2:34 am in Freeport. According to Detectives, Freeport Police Officers were notified of a shot spotter incident in the vicinity of Main Street and Leonard Avenue. An officer in close proximity when the call was dispatched observed a grey 2008 Honda CRV with dark tinted windows flee the location of the shooting at a high rate of speed. The officer activated their emergency lights and conducted a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop. There were three (3) subjects seated in the vehicle.

The Public Information Office reports the arrest of an Old Bethpage man for Driving While Intoxicated that occurred on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 5:14 pm in Bethpage. According to detectives, Bureau of Special Operations Officers responded to 150 Main Street for a vehicle into a building. Upon arrival it was determined that a single vehicle had struck the 7-11 store front window pane, causing it to break. The operator of the vehicle had fled the scene in a red Toyota 4Runner prior to police arrival. A short time later, the fleeing vehicle was involved in a collision with a 2017 Grey Subaru Sedan being operating by a 46-year-old female at the intersection of Conklin Ave and Main Street in Farmingdale.
