Fog this morning, but storms are back in the forecast Friday afternoon and overnight
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — The dry weather has been short lived, but it is coming to an end. The morning will start off with fog again, with more sunshine coming back out after the fog lifts. The temperatures will come back up to the upper 70s again, but rain may slow that down. Showers will be kicking up in the afternoon, but most of our rain will come with storms and heavy showers in the evening.
Judge rules in favor of Lynchburg in gender discrimination lawsuit by former firefighter
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — A judge has ruled in favor of the City of Lynchburg after a former firefighter claimed she was demoted and discriminated against based on her gender. Mary Shumate, a former firefighter for the City of Lynchburg, reported discriminatory treatment and a hostile work environment based on her gender, as well as retaliation for reporting gender discrimination. Shumate's complaint described discriminatory treatment from her superiors and a retaliatory investigation that led to her demotion.
