HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — The parents of the one-year-old who fell into a backyard swimming pool on Evansville’s west side have an update regarding the status of their child.

Parents China and Alex shared the update of their baby Ayko with Vanderburgh County Sheriff Noah Robinson. They said Ayko is making positive progress and won’t stop fighting until he is back home.

“Ayko is making positive progress,” they said. “He is a very strong baby, and we know he isn’t gonna stop fighting until he is back home with us. Please keep praying for our boy, he needs all the strength he can get.”

The family has started a GoFundMe where all proceeds will go to Ayko’s medical bills. They also said they plan to use any extra money to start a foundation in Aykos’ name for families in the same situation.
