For more than a decade the Oregon Ducks have been a team on the verge of winning a national title. But for whatever reason they keep falling short.

But things have felt different ever since Dan Lanning has taken over. They still are recruiting at a high level but what was once a team built on offense, is now built on defense while still keeping that high-powered offense Ducks' fans are accustomed to.

The job Lanning has done in his first two seasons helped him receive lofty praise from Fox Sports' Joel Klatt. "Lanning is building a powerhouse," Klatt said on his podcast "The Joel Klatt Show: A CFB Pod."

"If I had to buy stock in one coach in America it would be Dan Lanning," Klatt said. "He's young. He's going to win. He clearly likes where he's at because he had opportunities to go to some of the biggest places in the country. i.e. Alabama and he didn't."

Combine all of that with the Ducks landing arguably the top transfer quarterback in the portal, Dillon Gabriel from Oklahoma and being able to get a former five-star quarterback transfer from UCLA Dante Moore to be their future and things are looking very bright for the Ducks.
