Hot and mainly sunny Saturday

East Texas (KLTV/KTRE) - A pleasant night has set the stage for yet another hot and sunny day. High temperatures today expected to climb into the upper 90’s for areas near I-20 and I-30, with Deep East Texas areas in the low to mid 90’s. We’ll be mostly sunny with a few passing clouds, and dry throughout the weekend. The lack of rainfall has lead to an increased fire danger. Upshur, Hunt, Delta, and Hopkins counties are seeing extreme fire danger, with most of the region seeing high to very high fire risk. These hot and dry conditions continue tomorrow. A little relief is on the way, a weak cold front with limited rain chances is expected to arrive late Monday. While we may not see a major cool down with highs in the low 90’s, cooler air filtering in behind the front will allow for less humid conditions next week. Have a great day!
