Estacada Farmers Market returns bigger than ever on May 11

As the community of Estacada grows, so does its farmers market.

On Saturday, May 11, the Estacada Farmers Market will return to the space in front of the Estacada Fire Station from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and it is bigger than ever.

“In 2020, the market shrank, but since we moved to the new location, it has grown,” said Estacada Farmers Market board member Tara Nash. “This is probably going to be the biggest we’ve ever had, and most varied. It’s huge. We have expanded a lot.”

So far around 35 vendors have already applied to partake in the seasonal market fun.

Nash was happy to report that part of this growth has tipped the scales between farm stands and craft booths.

“I feel like this year it’s more farms than crafts people,” Nash explained.

So far vendors who’ve signed up plan to offer vegetables, fruits, eggs, goat milk, baked goods, roasted coffee, micro greens, tinctures, mushrooms, teas and fresh cut flowers, as well as craft items like jewelry, lotions, soaps, birdhouses, artwork, dried flowers, fabric arts and more.

There will be live music every second and fourth Saturday and a kids’ craft booth every third Saturday at the market. Market organizers also plan to host The Great Cookie Bake-Off at the market on Saturday, Aug. 17. More information about that event will be available soon.

The market is every Saturday through the end of September. The market board is seeking more board members as well as volunteers to help run the markets.
