Pickathon Music Festival's 2024 Artist Lineup
Pickathon has announced its lineup of bands for the 2024 Festival, coming August 1-4 to Pendarvis Farm in Happy Valley, Oregon (12 miles outside of Portland, OR). The festival brings a renewed focus on major headliners, starting with Australian indie rock icon Courtney Barnett. Pickathon has headlining slots with folk group Elephant Revival, soul revivalist Durand Jones, country rock mainstay Bonnie "Prince" Billy, and "Australia's greatest boy band," Vacations.
New film highlights Mount Hood fire lookout that predates Timberline Lodge
In 1915, U.S. Forest Service ranger Elijah “Lige” Coalman built a fire lookout cabin on the summit of Mount Hood. The cabin served as a place to view nascent fires and as a bit of a party spot, according to the new short documentary “Cabin in the Sky: The Mount Hood Lookout.” Filmmaker Ned Thanhouser joins us to share the history of the cabin, which remained in use until 1940.

Locals taste Oregon varietals during Lake Grove wine walk
Attendees strolled SW Boones Ferry Road to visit local businesses and savor wine from across Oregon during the Lake Oswego Chamber of Commerce’s Oregon Wine Walk in Lake Grove Saturday, May 11. The sold-out event included 400 attendees, 20 wineries and 20 pouring locations and the locations provided wine and appetizers. Chamber CEO Liz Hartman said the organization hit its goals for the event, has received positive feedback and is optimistic the event will return next year. The chamber also hosts a wine walk in downtown Lake Oswego each October.
