An Erie woman is facing attempted homicide and other charges after city police accused her of stabbing another woman during a planned fight in an eastside neighborhood on Monday night.

Andrea K. Griffin-McCloud, 23, was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon and was later arraigned by Erie 3rd Ward District Judge Alison Scarpitti on charges including felony counts of attempted homicide and aggravated assault. Scarpitti set bond at $75,000, according to Erie police arrest records.

Police accuse Griffin-McCloud of stabbing a 27-year-old woman during a confrontation in the 2300 block of Fairmount Parkway on Monday at about 8:45 p.m.

Police reported on Tuesday that they learned of the stabbing when officers were called to Saint Vincent Hospital to investigate a report of a stabbing victim.

According to information in Griffin-McCloud's criminal complaint, the woman who was stabbed told police she had been receiving threatening and harassing text messages and phone calls and had agreed to travel to Fairmount Parkway to fight Griffin-McCloud. The woman said after the two fought, she noticed she was bleeding and went to the hospital, police wrote in the complaint.

The woman suffered a laceration to her forehead that required six stitches to close and a stab wound to her breast which punctured her right lung, according to information in the complaint.
