Williston Middle School students given “Red-Carpet Treatment” at premiere for short movie
WILLISTON, N.D. (KUMV) - Students at Williston Middle School Central Campus got an opportunity to see themselves on the big screen at the Grand Theater Thursday. Members of the Media Arts class were given the red carpet treatment to premiere their movie “The Lost Trophy.” With the help of The Film Dudes, a group of filmmakers from Minot, they put together a short film blending mystery and comedy.

Williston Wins First Girls Tennis Dual Of ’24, Stopping Jamestown
JAMESTOWN – Williston kept Jamestown winless in girls tennis with a 9-0 dual win Thursday at Bolinger Courts. Number five singles player Kate Redfearn of the Blue Jays forced a second set tiebreak, but all nine matches ended in straight set wins for Williston, who improved to 1-5 in WDA duals. Jamestown is 0-10 and 0-6 in the WDA.

TrainND Foundation offering pair of CDL training scholarships
WILLISTON, N.D. (KUMV) - The TrainND Foundation in Williston is offering two scholarships to help people interested in obtaining their Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). The $4,000 scholarships are for TrainND Northwest’s four-week CDL training course, which is offered in Williston, Dickinson and Minot. It can also be used for their Fast Track CDL Training.

A Williston man, who ran from and shot at police officers in 2022, has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to possessing a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon.
