Port Charlotte man involved in 130 mph chase and crash that tore a car in half in Central Florida
LAKELAND, Fla. — A Port Charlotte man was involved in a 130 mph chase with state troopers, which ended in a crash that ripped a car apart in Lakeland Thursday night. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, around 11:54 p.m., a Toyota Camry was spotted by a trooper heading west on I-4, going 102 mph in a 35 mph zone.
Port Charlotte drug dealer receives 12-year prison sentence
FORT MYERS, Fla. — A Port Charlotte man was sentenced on Friday to 12 years in prison for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. According to the State Attorney's Office, 58-year-old John Alton Knight, Jr. was arrested by Charlotte County deputies on August 9, 2022, after he was found with over 2,700 grams of methamphetamine and approximately 49 grams of fentanyl.
