    Suspect arrested in connection with gunfire in Enfield

    ENFIELD, Conn. (WWLP) – A Bloomfield man was arrested after he allegedly exchanged gunfire in the area of Lincoln Street and Alden Avenue in Enfield Sunday morning.

    According to a new release sent to 22News from Enfield Police Chief Alaric Fox, at around 5:38 a.m. officers were called to a report of shots fire. Upon arrival at the intersection of Lincoln Street and Alden Avenue, officers detained three men and one woman.

    During the investigation, a man who police say knew the victim entered the home and exchanged gunfire with the residents. Twenty-eight-year-old Zachary Clothakis of Bloomfield, Connecticut was arrested and is being held on a $250,000 surety bond for the following charges:

    • Criminal Attempt at Assault 1st Degree
    • Carrying a Pistol without a permit
    • Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree
    • Criminal Use of a Weapon
    • Illegal Discharge of a Firearm
    • Breach of Peace 2nd Degree

    Traffic was diverted from the area as the Connecticut State Police Central District Major Crimes unit assisted with evidence collection during the search warrants. Chief Fox said that they anticipate additional arrests as the case is being investigated.
