NLX Meets Downtown Business Leaders Over Luncheon
DULUTH, Minn – The Northern Lights Express has been discussed for years here in the Northland… and Tuesday the project was the subject of an informational lunch downtown. The NLX Board met with the downtown council to describe the project’s details and share a vision for the future. St. Louis County Commissioner Keith Nelson has been involved with the project for over 18 years. He chairs the NLX Board and says light rail continues to prove that it is THE transportation mode of the future. Babbitt man pleads guilty to killing his 2 roommates
DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - The man accused of killing his two roommates back in October has pleaded guilty. On Wednesday, Roger Allen Beldo, 54, of Babbitt pleaded guilty to two felonies of second-degree murder for killing Clifford and Christine Johnson at their home in Babbitt on Oct. 28, 2023.

ELY—Ely Rotary Club awarded a $1,000 grant to United Way of Northeastern Minnesota (UWNEMN) May 8 to support the organization’s local operation of the Imagination Library program.
