ELY, Minn. (Northern News Now) - Safely storing food is a good idea when visiting the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, but now, it is the law. Recently announced by the Forest Service, food must be stored in a tree 12 feet off the ground and six feet from the trunk, or in a container approved by the Interagency Grizzly Bear Committee.

Ely, Minn.- The Prospector Alliance Loop ATV Club has announced their ride schedule for the year. All rides will be guided and some will be fundraisers that include lunch and a raffle. Rides will start in Ely but with construction planned for later this summer, the starting point may move. The first ride will be June 15, for a loop including the Greg Mosher Putnam Lake Overlook.
