Golf team has good rounds in Colfax, prepping for Regionals
COLFAX, WI – Saving the best for last is always the goal for every team, and while the last isn’t here quite yet the Spring Valley golf team is trending in that direction. The Cardinals competed last Thursday in two 9-hole events at Colfax’s Whitetail Golf Course and while they didn’t threaten the top teams, they had some of their best scores of the season.

Hudson, Eau Claire Memorial top Menomonie regional meet
Track and field regional meets were held around the state Monday, including in Menomonie where most Big Rivers teams competed in a Division 1 regional. Hudson topped the team scores on the boys side by a wide margin while Eau Claire Memorial won the girls meet. Hudson’s 142 points in the boys competition put them nearly 30 points in front of second-place Chippewa Falls which had 116. New Richmond came in third with 107.5 and Memorial had 106.5, good for fourth. ...
Menomonie, Memorial have strong showings in tennis subsectionals
Division 1 boys tennis subsectionals got underway Monday and the top three teams in the Big Rivers Conference made up the top three team scores in the Eau Claire Memorial subsectional. Menomonie, who snapped the Old Abes streak of winning every Big Rivers title since 1997 this season, finished the day in the lead with 22 points. For the first time in program history, Menomonie boys tennis is headed to the team state tournament. The Mustangs won the Eau Claire Memorial Sectional by double-digit points on Wednesday to punch their ticket to Madison. Menomonie finished the sectional with 46 points.
