Hudson teacher charged with inappropriate behavior tenders resignation
HUDSON, Wis. — A teacher in Hudson, Wisconsin has resigned after being criminally charged for reportedly having inappropriate contact with one of her students. During a meeting of the Hudson School Board Monday night, board members discussed a personnel package that included the resignation tendered by fifth-grade teacher Madison Bergmann. Bergman was removed from her classroom at River Crest Elementary and arrested on May 1 after a parent of one of her students informed district officials about alleged contact between the teacher and their son.
Prison ‘justice’ for the incarcerated—is it fair?
Since being incarcerated 18 years ago, Amani Fardan has become an artist. This has helped him connect with himself and his family members. “I find it therapeutic,” said Fardan. “One of the pieces I was working on was basically a picture of a family dog that passed away. So just trying to do something like that has sentimental value.” His work has been exhibited through an organization called Art From The Inside, most recently at the Minnesota Attorney General’s office.

Minnesota will swear in its first Vietnamese American state court judge today. Viet-Hanh Winchell will be sworn in as a state judge at the Washington County Courthouse in Stillwater, Minnesota, Pioneer Press reports. Hudson, Chippewa Falls crowned Big Rivers track and field champions
The Big Rivers track and field Championships were held at New Richmond on Monday and both the boys and girls competitions crowned championships. Hudson won the boys title while Chippewa Falls won the girls championship. Both the Raiders and Cardinals were the top two teams in team scoring. Chippewa Falls outlasted Hudson by 1.5 points on the girls side with a score of 117.5.
