Under the Sea in Bar Harbor: New Exhibits and Features at the Oceanarium and Education Center
BAR HARBOR — The Oceanarium and Education Center is set to open for its first full season on May 17. This comes after Dick Post of Lexington, MA took over ownership in 2021, transforming the Mount Desert Oceanarium into a marine education hub. Executive director Jeff Cumming said the change "allows us to kind of pursue the mission of education." The facility, now run as a nonprofit, is primed to host Maine public schools and families alike for enriching, hands-on learning experiences.
