Imagine a weekend where laughter, relaxation, and fun take center stage. You are surrounded by the breathtaking views of Maine's thick forests and birdsong. Glamping is like camping, but fancy. So instead of being in a tent trying to survive like the Naked and Afraid folks, I would rather be in an upscale tent, elegantly designed to fully assist me in immersing myself in nature. Ahhhh.
Bucksport Pool Going to the Dogs August 24
Fido will want you to circle Saturday, August 24th on the calendar! That's the day for the 3rd Annual Doggy Paddle Fundraiser. Once the Bucksport Pool closes for the season, the Bucksport Recreation/YMCA will turn the Tim Emery Pool to the dogs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It's their chance to cool off, and show their best doggy paddle!
Mount Desert Summer Chorale to perform August 2-3
BAR HARBOR — The Mount Desert Summer Chorale will present its annual concerts on August 2 at Ellsworth High School and on August 3 at St. Saviour’s Church in Bar Harbor. The program, titled “Consolation and Promise,” presents the Requiem by Gabriel Fauré and the Five Mystical Songs by Ralph Vaughan Williams. Both concerts begin at 7:30 p.m., with a pre-concert talk by conductor David Schildkret at 7 p.m.

Free MUSIC in the PARK on Wednesdays at NOON in Sullivan, Maine
Age-Friendly Sullivan is to invite you to our 3rd weekly event of musicians entertaining our community on Wednesdays at noon, on July 24th, 2024. Local musician, Gary Bushee will be our guest artist at our MUSIC in the PARK, under the tents at Sumner Memorial Park in Sullivan. Gary Bushee has been making music since early childhood, singing songs and playing harmonica from about age six, followed by guitar and recorder. A multi-instrumentalist, Gary plays mandolin, fiddle, viola, ukulele, and percussion. He identifies primarily as a singer, working in the folk tradition with frequent forays into jazz and country blues. Bring a picnic lunch, bring your family and friends, meet your neighbors and relax under the tents near the Gazebo. These events are FREE to the public.
