Spring clean-up has begun across the Boothbay-Boothay Harbor Cemetery District properties. Please remember to remove your artificial flowers and decorations so that grounds maintenance can occur. As a reminder, artificial flowers and decorations are allowed on gravesites between Oct. 1 and March 31. Thank you for your help in keeping our cemeteries maintained.

Father and son have unexpected reunion at Legion breakfast
It was a special day for the Radziwon family at Sunday’s American Legion breakfast. Vietnam veteran Henry Radziwon, of Boothbay and Connecticut, attended the breakfast with his daughter Leigh and his granddaughter. As he sat down and began to eat his morning meal, he spotted surprise No. 1: A veterans’ banner with his boot camp graduation photo, name and years of military service beside another banner for his son, Jeffrey. His children purchased veterans’ banners for the two veterans and planned the family reunion.
Planning board approves riprap for East Boothbay property
The Boothbay Planning Board conditionally approved one application April 17 to repair shoreline with riprap. Steve Roberge of SJR Engineering in Augusta represented the Jennifer W. Teschner Trust of Toledo, Ohio which sought approval for its property on East Tibbetts Road. The property is zoned in a coastal residential and shoreland overlay district. The applicant is required to provide an Army Corps of Engineers permit and merge two lots into one on a recorded deed.
