Matthew Ferreira, 22, of Castine, was turning left from Ledgelawn Avenue onto Mount Desert Street on Monday in a 2006 Toyota Prius when Michael Perlman, 40, of Bar Harbor, on rollerblades, attempted to pass three vehicles stopped in traffic on Mount Desert Street. Ferreira did not see Perlman and the two collided, injuring Perlman. Perlman was taken to the hospital with a broken leg. There are no charges being filed at this time, according to the police log.
