EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - After weeks of investigation and interviews, the Posey County Sheriff’s Office says they have taken in the suspect of an attempted shooting. The investigation started November 9 after law enforcement officials were called to a Mt. Vernon home after receiving word that someone fired a gun several times.
Weekly Safety Report: Arrests for Domestic Battery and Meth Busts in Carmi, Illinois
Two incidents occurred in Carmi, Illinois this week resulting in arrests. The first incident involved the arrest of Donald Stover for domestic battery, which was witnessed by a 65-year-old individual. Stover also had a pending court appearance for previous charges. The second incident led to the arrest of David Strean and involved drug-related offenses, including possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The Carmi Police Department, along with assistance from the White County Sheriff's Department, conducted separate drug raids leading to Strean's arrest.

Wayne City Man Arrested Twice Within 4 Hours in Olney
A Wayne City man was arrested twice within a 24-hour period Sunday into Monday. At 9:30 PM, Olney police arrested 35-year-old Matthew C. McKinney on a charge of retail theft following an incident in the 900 block of West Street. Less than 4 hours later, McKinney was arrested once again in Olney, but was charged in the second arrest with possession of meth, criminal trespassing, and resisting and or obstructing a peace officer in the 100 Block of North Morgan Street.

Man Arrested In Connection to Lake County Home Invasion in Rinard
Wayne County Sheriff’s Officials and US Marshals on Monday executed a warrant in Rinard. Officials were looking for 44-year-old Carlos Kidd. According to authorities, Kidd was a fugitive on the run following a home invasion in Lake County. After authorities apprehended Kidd, deputies searched the property and found a bag that they say contained a loaded 9 millimeter handgun, zip ties, gloves, a mask, and numerous rounds of ammunition. Authorities also found in the home a loaded 12-gauge shotgun.

Domestic Dispute Leads to Warrant Arrests
A domestic dispute that led to authorities being called resulted in the arrest of the two residence at the residence on warrants. According to Carmi Police incident report, released by Chief of Police Jason Carter, 48 year old Karen L. Bennett and 48 year old James H.
