Two Arrested Following Chase Wednesday Afternoon
Two wanted men are behind bars following their arrest Wednesday afternoon in White County. Sheriff Jordan Weiss says he was alerted by Gallatin County law enforcement of an ongoing pursuit in the Ridgway area around 3pm. One of the men being pursued was known to be Colton Hansbrough, wanted out of Gallatin County on a warrant for Burglary and Hardin County on a warrant for Escape. The vehicle would evade law enforcement but then crashed on County Road 800 East, about 2 miles north of Plainview Church. When law enforcement arrived, no occupants were found in the vehicle. A resident of a home near where the crash happened told officers the two men in the vehicle had been picked up and driven from the scene. Sheriff Weiss says the individual who had picked up the two males didn’t know about the situation and simply noticed them walking down the road in search of a ride.

Carmi man pleads guilty to possessing stolen ambulance
WHITE COUNTY — A 54-year-old Carmi man pleaded guilty Wednesday in White County Court to possessing a stolen ambulance in September. Anthony Scott Hogue was facing charges of Class X felony theft from a government entity, Class 2 felony possession of a stolen vehicle, Class 3 felony burglary, and misdemeanor resisting a peace officer.

NOBLE VILLAGE BOARD MEETING MONDAY NIGHT (11/27/2023)
(NOBLE) The Noble Village Board met in regular session this past Monday night. The Board : approved the payment of all bills as presented : approved an ordinance to amend and raise the Village’s sewer rates by 10% effective immediately and by 5% for the next five years beginning in 2025 : discussed obtaining a grant for the needed sewer lagoon improvement work with Greater Wabash Regional Planning Commission, but agreed not to contribute extra funds to receive a higher rating – a public hearing will be held December 18th with a special meeting to follow concerning the grant : approved the first payment request for $71,550 for the new Noble Village Park restrooms to be paid out of Richland County ARPA funds : took no action on the annual contribution request for the Richland County Development Corporation : noted the final day of the Village’s leaf collection program is tomorrow (11/30/23) : noted the Village’s Tax Levy ordinance will be presented at the next meeting : noted the Village’s Christmas Party will be held December 7th : and noted the 2nd Village Board meeting in December has been cancelled : next meeting is December 11th.
Cisne to Celebrate Christmas on the Square Friday and Saturday

Two people were injured and a third person was arrested on several charges following a two vehicle accident around 6:48 Wednesday night. According to the Carmi Police Department report issued by Chief of Police Jason Carter, Deanna and Don Wayne Williams were transported to area hospitals with minor injuries following the crash which occurred on Highway One at Little Giant Grocery.

According to MVPD, a 19 year-old under police supervision entered multiple businesses Wednesday to purchase alcohol. Seven of eight locations reportedly sold alcohol to the underage agent.
