EL PASO, Texas (Border Report) – Police in Juarez, Mexico, say they have arrested six alleged members of the Artistas Asesinos or AA gang, aka Doblados, in connection with the murder of two men and a woman on Wednesday.
Police tracked the three vehicles the suspects were traveling in through surveillance cameras in South Juarez to a home in the El Jarudo neighborhood. Officers showed up en masse to the neighborhood and were fired upon from inside a home, the Municipal Public Safety Secretariat said in a statement.
Police returned fire and wounded a male inside the home before the rest surrendered; no police officers were injured in the shootout.
Law enforcement seized three vehicles, four rifles, four guns, more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition and 30 ammo magazines.
Police identified the detainees as Jesus Daniel S.M., 23, Isai A.B., 18, Evelyn V., 22, Ivette M., 21, Paul R. 28 and Luis R., 29. The two women, Paul R. and Luis R. were born in El Paso but lived in Juarez and were part of the gang scene there, authorities told a Border Report camera crew.
